A continuation order block is not finished being analysed when the zone first appears.
Confirmation creates the zone.
The next stage is observing what happens to it.
Continuation Order Block Lite records that lifecycle without treating the zone as a forecast, entry or trade signal.

1. CONFIRMATION CREATES THE ZONE
────────────────────────────
A zone is created only after the selected continuation sequence has completed and the origin candle has passed the active displacement/FVG qualification rule.
At that moment, the zone becomes confirmed.
The box begins from the confirmation point because that is when the required information becomes available.
The origin candle existed earlier, but the zone was not yet structurally confirmed.

2. NEW AND FRESH ARE NOT THE SAME
────────────────────────────
NEW describes an event.
It means a qualifying continuation zone has just been created.
FRESH describes its current state.
A fresh zone is active and has not yet recorded its first interaction.
The distinction is simple:
• NEW = the zone-creation event
• FRESH = active and not yet interacted with

3. WHAT COUNTS AS A TOUCH?
────────────────────────────
A zone becomes TOUCHED when price reaches and overlaps it for the first time.
For a bullish zone, the script checks whether price reaches the zone from above.
For a bearish zone, it checks whether price reaches the zone from below.
Once the first overlap occurs, the panel changes the zone state from FRESH to TOUCHED.
A touch does not automatically deactivate the zone.
It only records that the first interaction has occurred.

4. WHAT IS A GAP-THROUGH?
────────────────────────────
A gap-through is recorded when the first interaction moves completely beyond the zone without overlapping its price range.
This is separated from a normal touch because the path through the zone is different.
A normal interaction reaches and overlaps the box.
A gap-through passes beyond it without trading through the zone’s range in the usual way.
Both are descriptive lifecycle events.
Neither is a forecast of what price should do next.

5. STRUCTURE INVALIDATION
────────────────────────────
The script uses completed structure-timeframe closes for structural invalidation.
A bullish zone is invalidated when a completed structure-timeframe candle closes below the zone’s lower boundary.
A bearish zone is invalidated when a completed structure-timeframe candle closes above the zone’s upper boundary.
This is different from an intrabar wick.
The lifecycle decision is based on the completed structure candle, not temporary movement during its formation.

6. AGE EXPIRY
────────────────────────────
A zone does not remain active indefinitely.
The Maximum Zone Age setting defines how many completed structure bars the zone can remain active.
When that limit is exceeded, the zone is switched off with the reason AGE.
Expiry does not claim that the zone was successful or unsuccessful.
It only states that the zone has exceeded the selected observation window.

7. SUPERSESSION
────────────────────────────
A new qualifying continuation event can create another zone in the same direction.
When that happens, the newer zone replaces the previously active same-direction zone.
The earlier zone is marked as superseded and retained only as inactive historical context.
This keeps the active map focused on the most recently confirmed continuation origin.

8. STRUCTURE REVERSAL
────────────────────────────
An active directional zone is also switched off when the structure state reverses.
For example, an active bearish continuation zone no longer belongs to the current directional state after the structure engine transitions bullish.
The previous box can remain visible, but it is no longer an active zone.

9. WHY OLD BOXES REMAIN VISIBLE
────────────────────────────
Inactive zones are displayed with a faded fill and dotted border.
They remain on the chart to preserve the historical sequence:
• where the zone was confirmed;
• whether it was interacted with;
• and why it later became inactive.
These faded boxes are historical records.
They should not be confused with the current active zone shown in the status panel.

10. WORKED EXAMPLE — BULLISH TOUCHED ZONE
────────────────────────────
Consider the current bullish continuation zone shown on the chart using 4-hour structure.
1. Bullish CHoCH begins the structural transition.
2. The next qualifying bullish BOS completes Model B and is displayed as CONT BOS.
3. The script searches backward for the most recent bearish 4-hour origin candle.
4. The origin passes the active displacement/FVG qualification rule.
5. The full high-to-low range of that candle becomes the bullish continuation zone.
6. The zone is created and begins as FRESH.
7. Price later returns from above and overlaps the zone for the first time.
8. The state changes from FRESH to TOUCHED.
9. The touch does not deactivate the zone, so it remains active in the status panel.
10. The older faded box visible lower on the chart represents an inactive historical zone, not the current active zone.
This example shows that confirmation, first interaction and deactivation are separate lifecycle events.

11. WHAT THE LABELS DO NOT MEAN
────────────────────────────
FRESH does not mean that a zone is stronger.
TOUCHED does not mean that a zone has failed.
ACTIVE does not mean that price must return.
INACTIVE does not evaluate whether a previous reaction was good or bad.
The labels describe observable structural states and lifecycle events.
They do not provide entries, targets, stop losses, probabilities or trade instructions.
