ETF Outflows and Increased Transfers
Over the past week, US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw a net outflow of approximately $1.4 billion. This indicates a slowdown in institutional buying that had persisted for months. Simultaneously, about 9,664 BTC were transferred into exchanges in the last five days, estimated to be worth over $744 million. The market typically interprets such flows as a signal of potential increasing selling pressure.
Liquidation Concentrated Around $76,000
Market deleveraging also exacerbated the decline. Since Bitcoin's pullback from its May highs, long liquidations across various platforms have ranged from approximately $661 million to $850 million. Forced liquidations led to passive selling, causing spot prices to fall more quickly into less liquid areas. Meanwhile, a dense concentration of long liquidations has formed in the $76,000 to $74,000 range, while a significant area of liquidity exists around $74,000. In the event of a technical rebound, $78,000 to $79,000 may initially act as short-term resistance.
