Although BTC is holding above the 200-week SMA currently and will likely bounce further up to possibly touch the upper side of our descending triangle, I am still expecting one last flush down to our target area before it begins any sustaining upward trend change again. Once our final target down is reached, that will be make-or-break-it time for Bitcoin.
In the past, the 350-week SMA always proved strong and a touch always proved to be the turning point of the last bear markets. You will note from the chart that in 2017-2018 the cycle top peaked but it wasn't until March of 2020 that we touched the 350-week SMA, marking that cycle bottom.
Again, in April 2021 and Nov. 2021, we peaked. But not until Nov. 2022-Jan. 2023 did we come to rest on that 350-week SMA support. This again marked our bottom.
Here we are today. Some are saying 60k and a touch of our 200-week SMA (RED) is the bottom. I don't think so. Though, as stated already, a bounce to the top of our descending triangle is definitely a strong possibility, history has shown that it hasn't marked the bottom. My projection remains, as it has all along for the last year, that we will have one final flush to touch that all-important, ever-significant, 350-week SMA (ORANGE). It is there that I think we can begin to think about having reached this cycle's bottom.
